Okay, I know this is a little belated! This is my 20 week belly shot that happened to land on my hubby's birthday. This post is pretty belated as I am almost 22 weeks now! But it is so nice to be over 1/2 way though! Wahoo!!!
I think my scanner needs a cleaning... these didn't scan so well! I think we've told almost everyone, but just in case you didn't catch the news, we are having a baby girl! Shane I think, was a little disappointed. He was really hoping for a son. I guess he's really outnumbered now... ha ha. But Jada on the other hand, couldn't be happier to have a little sister to love and play with. I'm so excited to have another girl. I'm already feeling quite a bit of movement. She loves to dance for me at 10 o'clock every night. I love to just lay down and feel her move... it's amazing! I'm so in love with this little girl already. I think little girls are so much fun.
Like we didn't have enough frills and lace in our house!
The ultrasound came out normal, and they said she looks very healthy! Here's some pictures of her doing summer saults.
Okay, I have a dilema, I have no idea how many months pregnant I am! I could never figure this out when I was pregnant with Jada too. I have a book.. pregnancy week by week. So I remember which week I am.. but never know how that correlates to months.. I know.. pretty dumb, eh? People ask me all the time.. and I feel so dumb not knowing! Okay, I found a chart that broke up the months depending on what week you are. Tell me if this is right.
1-4 weeks - 1 month5-8 weeks - 2 months
9-13 weeks - 3 months
14 - 17 weeks - 4 months
18 - 21 weeks - 5 months
22 - 26 weeks - 6 months
27 - 30 weeks - 7 months
31 - 35 weeks - 8 months
36 - 40 weeks - 9 months
Okay, so I am almost 22 weeks, does that mean I'm 6 months along? Or do I say I'm 6 months when that month is over? Does that make sense? It's so confusing to me!

sistah- I have had 7 kids, and the whole weeks/months thing I still don't get... say what you want, you get to make the rules...

It's easy. If you are truely 22 weeks along, then you just remember this short paragraph and you'll be able to correctly inform your mother, friends and all other people.
Just say, "There still is no standard – it all depends on who you're talking to. Some people use a calendar month as a measure: if your LMP (last menstrual period) was on the 5th of January, you're 1 month pregnant on February 5, 2 months on March 5 and so on.
Still others use the 28-day "lunar calendar" – every 4 weeks, you're another month pregnant. In this case, a standard 280-day pregnancy (dating from LMP to EDD) is 10 months long! A true lunar month is 29.5306 days long (29.5 for our calculations here).
But a more easy way of telling people how far along you are is to make up what ever you want! I think your Mom always did!

Hmmmm. No clue. When I was pregnant I always lied and said I was a little further along than I really was because I was so fat. sad.
Okay this is very comforting to know that everyone just makes it up too! ha ha... I thought I was the only one who couldn't figure this out. Maybe I'll just start telling people how many days I am along.... ha ha Guess it doesn't really matter. She gets here when she gets here!

Or you could do the missionary approach. Over the hump. hahaha. I always did by month. Although, like Renee I was always bigger then I should have been. :) Dang lack of torso. Anyway, so, Lissie's EDD was 4/3; on 2/3 I said I was 7 months prego. Do the Lilypie thing. That's what I did to keep up with how far I was. It goes by a true month, 30 or 31 days.
Bump's bigger. And folks, when she's wearing her cute white wrap shirt, she looks even bigger, you just want to reach out and rub the belly for good luck!
Shane can take Nathan fishing (or flying!) anytime. :) btw, my experience with the kids is whatever they say the baby is, they are right...at least the younger they are. Lydia knew with Nate and Cami. Cami knew with Lissie. Now, that I've written a novel, I'm out!
Okay, so basically unless I'm overdue, I'll never say that I'm "9 months pregnant" 8 months is the last month.. is that right? So that would make me 5 months pregnant now? I think that sounds right.
I always had to count backward from when I was due. It was the only way I could figure out the weeks/months thing. I was due April 6th so, for example, around the beginning of January I would say I was six months along since I had three full months left. I guess that would mean you are about five months already! Wow!
Too confusing for me. I always say by week as well or just make something up. Congrats on the girl! Jada will love having a little sister to hang around with ;)
Go with how you are feeling at the time. Just remember that you could say that your glass is half empty or half full. :P
