Shane's Birthday Part 2

Shane thought his birthday was long over, but was it....?

Heck no! I had one more surprise in store. This is a picture of us on our way to Shane's surprise date.

He had no idea up until we got there. I got some tickets to a Creedence Clearwater concert! They played at the Wild Horse Saloon, which is a local hot spot for new and upcoming bands, and occasionally they have big names. This venue is actually a restaurant with a stage in the center. So it's pretty cool, you can order dinner while you watch! If you come visit us in Nashville, this is one place we'll take you! Next month Styx is coming so you better hurry and get out here.

I was amazed at how awesome they sounded! How long have they been around? It was inspiring. I hope I'm still living it up and rocking out at that age! Gotta love the classics!! Here's a clip of CCR from the concert. I almost got kicked out for video taping! Hope the internet police don't come get me.

Pictures from Our Lake Powell Trip

Here are some highlights from our Lake Powell Trip! It was crazy fun!

This is the houseboat we stayed on. We found a nice quiet cove and just played all week long!

Between the jet skis and Grandpa's boat, we all were on the Lake pretty much all the time.

Some other fun things we did were fishing, jumping off the side of the boat, going down the slide, swimming in the Lake, playing the Nintendo Wii, and just lounging in the sun.

We all had so much fun wake boarding, wake surfing, tubing, knee boarding and skiing! I think after a week, we all became pretty good! (And very very sore!)

Elise's First Day at Work

She's only been here 7 days and she's already, looked for, interviewed, and landed a job! Impressive! She has TONS of stuff to memorize for her new job. She has to memorize all the Aveda products plus all of the spa services they provide. So we made up some flash cards to help her memorize them. They are hilarious! We had a lot of laughs putting them together.

Elise's First Piece of Furniture

Funniest thing Happened today. I went to get the mail, and a few doors down, I saw a beautiful oak piece of furniture with a sign sitting on their lawn. I was curious, so I walked over and I was shocked to see that it was free! I ran to the door and said I'd take it! Elise and Shane helped me bring it over and put it in Elise's room.

It's beautiful. I can't believe it was free. It's solid hard wood and it fits perfectly in an empty spot in her room. I was wanting to get a bookcase for that spot... now I don't have to!

Funniest timing! The shipping truck with Elise's stuff unexpectedly came today! It came 3 days early. Great timing. Now she has plenty of space for her books and pictures.

Saturday Bike Ride

We went for a fun family bike/roller blade ride today. This little bike trail is right behind our house. The thing I love about Tennessee is being able to not have to go too far to see beautiful trees and greenery!

The weather is sooo great! It's hard to believe just a few weeks ago it was in the 100's!

Gotta love Saturdays.

Elise Gets a Job

Elise Gets a Job!!

Elise has only been here for 5 days, and she already has a job! Go Elise! She got a job at an upscale salon/day spa as a receptionist and sales person. She's going to do awesome!

Happy 32!

For Shane's birthday, we had his favorite cake... chocolate, layered with chocolate, with more layers of chocolate, and chocolate frosting! It is to die for... Jada helped with the candles... pink of course.

He got a season 6 of Smallville, our favorite show. We had a Smallville marathon pizza party! The new season starts next Thursday. I just realized Shane looks a little like Clark Kent. Maybe that's why I like the show so much!
